Public Speaking Winner.
Here are the prizes that I won in the Public Speaking Competition.
I spoke about reptiles and amphibians.

There were lots of brilliant speakers

so I was very excited when they announced

that I was the winner.

A Trip to Dublin
My Dad and I went on a trip to Dublin.

We visited the Natural History Museum and the Wax Museum.

I saw the GPO and the Spire in O'Connell Street.
We also went to the Aviva Stadium to see Ireland play Uruguay. Uruguay won 3-2.
I sent a postcard to the class showing the Spire. It arrived the very next day!

Handball
Niamh came to the school to do some Handball Training with us.

She showed us how to serve and how to do different shots.

We practised on our own and then we practised in pairs.

Handball is a really fast sport.

Pancake Tuesday
On Pancake Tuesday we made pancakes at school.

Before starting we washed our hands.

Then we mixed the ingredients.

Mrs Keane cooked them for us. It didn't take long.

Finally the best part! We got to decorate and eat them.

They were so nice we can't wait for next year.

Badminton
We had a Badminton Training Session in the Centre.

Our trainer's name was Tommy. We started playing with pom-poms.

Then we moved on to balloons and finally we played with shuttlecocks.

It was very fast and great fun.

Rugby Blitz
This is a medal that I got for taking part in a Rugby Blitz with Monivea.

Community Games Medal Winner
I won a medal in the Community Games Art Competition.
My picture showed children playing golf.

Keeping the School Clean
As part of the Green School's Project we have been making sure that the school grounds are kept as clean and litter-free as possible.
Everyone has been helping out!

Birdfeeders

As part of Green Schools we designed and made some birdfeeders. The class then voted for their favourite. The winning birdfeeder was hung on a tree near the gate. We have seen lots of birds feeding there.

Catholic Schools Week

During Catholic Schools Week we learned about St. Bridget, St. John Bosco and St. Blaise. At the end of the week we got a certificate.

Athenry Tidy Town's Art Competition

We won first and second prize in the Athenry Tidy Town's Art Competition.

Tae Kwon-Do Expert

This is the certificate that I got for reaching my first level in Tae Kwon-Do.

A Surprise in my Reading Book!

While I was learning my reading I noticed someone familiar.

It was a photo of my Uncle Alan taken on the day he became a Garda.

He is on the far left of the front row.

Children all over Ireland have been using this reading book since 2000.

Lots of children have read about him and looked at his photo.
